What’s the big fuss about plastic bags? They are very helpful in the stores, aren’t they? But as more people comes to understand, plastic bags create piles of waste and pollute the sea.
Bangladesh began this movement in 2002, followed by Rwanda and more.
UN Environment launched in February 2017 an unprecedented global campaign to eliminate major sources of marine litter: microplastics in cosmetics and the excessive, wasteful usage of single-use plastic by the year 2022.
This year, the Indonesian government has decided to impose a national tax on plastic carrier bags in the hope of reducing waste in the country’s heavily polluted waters. Indonesia is one of the worst plastic bag polluted countries.
